报告摘要:With the increasing demand of wireless communication systems, multiple-input-and-multiple-output (MIMO) technology is becoming very attractive among researchers to increase system performance. It has the potential to enhance the channel capacity by establishing multiple communication pathways simultaneously. It can lead to remarkably increased data rate and gain. To realize an effective and efficient MIMO system large isolation is required between the antenna elements to provide independent wireless channels. Recent studies have shown reduction in multipath fading, better isolation among elements, and improvement in correlation of signals received by MIMO antenna systems. One of the biggest challenges today is to realize MIMO antennas in the compact spaces of mobile devices.
Various MIMO antennas have been designed, modelled, and used for different applications during the last few years. Different isolation technologies have been proposed to improve MIMO antenna characteristics for different applications. Some of them are defective ground surface technique (DGS), Neutralization technique, micromachining technique etc.
In future, higher demands will be on further increasing data rates, spectral efficiency and energy efficiency along with signal processing algorithms. Massive (largescale) multi-user MIMO systems will able to address these issues. Simultaneously, it will bring lots of challenges for the researchers to fix them. Some of them are appropriate antenna design and fabrication, high gain and flexibility, correlation and coupling, beam forming and steering, channel modelling, matching – decoupling circuits, space time coding etc.
During this talk a brief review on MIMO antenna systems will be presented. The opportunities and challenges of this technology in real time communication of networked society will be emphasized. Results of different designs of MIMO antenna will be illustrated and future trends will be discussed.
